Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was named Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen Dennings is her mom. Ellen worked as a poetry and speech therapy Therapist. Gerald Dennings works as a molecular druggist as well as a professor at the university. Dennings was raised as one of one of the youngest children in a Jewish home. Dennings didn't attend the traditional school system for a long time but was instead homeschooled. As she began acting at an early age, she realized that homeschooling was the best solution. At the age of nine old, she began acting in television commercials. Following her graduation from high school she and her family moved in Los Angeles in order to explore acting. Kat Dennings, as she was referred to at the time, began auditioning. Kat Dennings ' first performance was on HBO's Sex and the City in 2000.
